Prologue
He glanced up at the clock.
“Damn!”, he exclaimed. He opened a rusty drawer and picked up 2 books. He put them in his satchel and ran out of the room. He was late.
Late.
He knew what it meant.
CHAPTER X
“Every student that has ever been late, has not been seen in the school again” , his friend had once told him.
He wished that this wasn’t true though he knew it was. Drake, Campbell, Chan, Mark. They had all disappeared over the last 3 months. He hated being in a stuck up military school in Baghdad.
He absolutely hated it.
Luke sprinted harder and pushed himself to his max. Would he be able to reach in time was his worry of the moment. When you’re in a military school, you know when you are really going to be in trouble.
Finally he reached the freshly-repainted building which laid at the end of the street. His hostel and the school were on the same street as to say, as the street was around 8 kms long. The building held a sense of dullness. A morbid atmosphere. Certainly not fit for teaching.
He pushed open the doors and there , standing in front of him was Mr. Long . Mr.Long was his P.E teacher. He was the roughest among them and he was a by-product of this very school.
“Hold it right there, Sonny”, Mr.Long beamed in an unpleasant manner.
“Yes, sir”, answered Luke. Though there was no question asked, when you study in a military school , you mostly open your mouth to say “Yes, sIr”.
“You’re late. You know what that means”, said Mr Long.
“Shit! I’m done for”, thought Luke. ”Yes, Sir” said he.
“Come on. Follow me”, ordered Long.
“Yes, Sir”, replied Luke.
Long took out his key from his Turtleneck jacket as the proceeded to the end of the hallway. He inserted the key into the keyhole and turned it. The door creaked open. A singular gasp could be heard as when the door creaked, all the classes heard it and they knew what was going to happen. Just they didn’t know to whom it was going to.
Suddenly, the dull grey colors of the hallway turned into a duller black corridor. As Long led him to a small door marked “The Dungeons” , Luke could feel his heart twist and turn. The dungeon door was a huge steel door with grills like in the movies.
Again , Long opened this door with his keys and put them back into his pocket. In a flash he rushed out and closed the door behind him.
“Uh-Oh”
There was no light except for the faint radiance of something reddish in color.
And then it happened. The ceiling fell on to the floor , crushing every bone in Luke’s body.
Epilogue
“Ah! BLOOD! This is the best way for a vampire to survive in a modern world” exclaimed Long
TRUTH: School sucks the blood/life out of students
